1. Native Japanese Trainers (not just Indian-trained)
This is the single biggest differentiator in Tamil Nadu. Most institutes use Indian trainers who learned Japanese as a second language. Their pronunciation and idiomatic usage is often off — which becomes a real problem when you're interviewed by a Japanese HR manager or when you land at Narita.
Ask the institute: "Do you have Native Japanese Trainers for N4 onwards? Can I meet one in the demo class?"

4. Partner schools or placement agency in Japan

Category 1: Chain institutes (franchise model)
National coaching brands that added Japanese as a product. Usually Indian trainers, ~60-70% JLPT pass rate, no real Study-in-Japan pipeline. Fine for casual learners.
